Happy Friday from Nashville!

Happy Friday, friends, and Greetings from Nashville!  Scott has a work conference here in the Music City this weekend, and the kids and I were really excited to tag along.  We got into town yesterday afternoon, and wasted no time in hitting up a barbeque joint, then walked around the city a bit, and took over the hotel pool!  The kids were most excited about just staying at the hotel!  Only Brantley has ever stayed in a hotel with us[Read more]

BE AWARE.

It was this past Friday.  I took all three kids shopping with me (something I typically don’t do much of- I run errands while Scott’s working from home so I can leave them with him), as we headed to WalMart to get supplies and food for the girls’ birthday party.  We shopped through the produce and baked goods, moved back to the snacks, and over to the party section. I noticed him in the grocery aisles, the first time I[Read more]

Brantley & Grayson’s Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter’s Tea Party

On Saturday, we were so happy to celebrate Brantley and Grayson’s birthdays at our very favorite little local bookstore, The Story Shop in Monroe. I’ve talked about their store before, and how it is just a child’s daydream come to life.  And yes, their shop is wonderful, but their event space… …it’s incredible!  We decided to have an Alice in Wonderland Mad Hatter’s Tea Party for the girls’ birthday.  Since their birthdays are less than a month apart (May 17 and[Read more]

Happy Mother’s Day + Weekly Meal Plan

Hello Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful Mother’s Day weekend!  I heard a quote over the weekend, “Mother’s Day is not about letting mom relax, but acknowledging that mom never relaxes.” How true, right, haha!  My husband and kids gave me a wonderful day to top off a fun weekend. We wrapped up Ben’s baseball season on Friday night, and got some ice cream on the way home.  He loved baseball so much that I signed him up for[Read more]

Weekend Recap + Weekly Meal Plan

Hi, Friends!  I hope you were able to have some fun, active time and some down time like we did.  We had a beautiful Saturday, full of soccer, baseball, and sunshine, and a lazy, rainy Sunday, which was perfect for watching movies, doing laundry, and baking bread!  Here’s a little look at our weekend. Scott was out of town Friday night and back late Saturday, so the kids and I were on our own for two soccer games and a baseball game![Read more]

73 Questions

Have you seen the 73 Questions YouTube posts like this one?  Now, I’m not going to make Scott chase me around the house while he asks me a bunch of questions he probably already knows the answers to, but I will write it all out in a blog post!  Want to know more??  Follow along! 1.Were you named after anyone? Halfway.  My parents just liked the name Amanda (most popular name in 1982, the year I was born), and my[Read more]

Happy Friday!

THANK THE GOOD LORD IT’S FRIDAY!!  Has this been the longest and most exhausting week for you too??  Daylight savings time can just suck it, because it hit us hard this year.  We are all tired and cranky and just need some rest!  But I’m headed out on an epic all-day field trip to Chatanooga with Brantley today, then we have Ben’s baseball game as soon as we arrive home, and then Brantley and Gracie’s soccer games on Saturday morning![Read more]

What it Means to be a Mother

One of my worst fears (if not the worst) is dying before my children are grown.  It’s not the fear of dying, so much as it’s imagining how hard it would be on Brantley, Grayson, and Ben to grow up without a mother.  How painful that would be to not have mom around during the most influential time in their entire life.  So when I was reading one of my very favorite blogs the other day, Cup of Jo, and her post about[Read more]
