What I Wore Wednesday

I have a full week’s worth of outfits ready for this WIWW!  We are on the edge of springtime, and these 70 degree temps have been glorious!  Here’s what I wore this week… I love cotton tunics when it starts getting warmer out.  They are easy to wear over jeans or with shorts, and are lightweight enough even to wear when it’s hot out.  I’ve had this one a few years now, and is still one of my favorites. Meal Plan Monday

Hi Friends!  I hope you had a nice weekend!  We have a busy week coming up (what’s new) so let’s take a look at what we’re going to be eating this week! Crock Pot Lentil Soup We were supposed to eat this last week, but on Thursday night, I was NOT feeling cooking at all.  I picked up a couple of pizzas for Scott and the kids, and I got a pulled pork burrito bowl for dinner (YUM), and decided[Read more]

What I Wore Wednesday

Two weeks in a row for WIWW posts…might be a recent record!  Thanks so much for the sweet comments and messages about my post last week…I am so glad to know that there are a few folks out there that like these little posts!  And honestly, I’m glad I started back, because they really give good motivation to get up and get dressed and get some use out of the clothes in my closet!  Plus, I like looking back on[Read more]

Chick-o-Stick Smoothie

I love smoothies.  Typically, I use fruit, maybe a handful of spinach, but the fruit is usually the highlight of the smoothie itself.  But as I was perusing Pinterest the other day, I cane across a creamy peanut butter smoothie, which I though sounded so good at the time!  I didn’t have exactly what the recipe called for, so I improvised a bit, and the smoothie that was produced was SO DELICIOUS!  It was made with four basic ingredients (that[Read more]

Meal Plan Monday

Happy Monday, friends!  Hope you are having a good start to your week like we are, after a beautiful day yesterday!  After church we had a little picnic lunch outside (Homemade Lemonade!  Chocolate Chip Cookies!), and were able to enjoy the sunshine and spring weather for the afternoon (hope it’s here to stay!).  Anyway, here’s what’s on the menu for our dinners this week! Hibachi Shrimp Supper with Lo Mein and Zucchini and Mushrooms I am so excited to make[Read more]

Things I Like

Happy Friday!  Hope y’all have had a great week, and am sharing things I have liked this week: 1. Fish Tacos This is actually left over from last week, when we ate tacos with my Dad for lunch one day.  I haven’t had fish tacos in SO LONG, and I forgot how much I love them.  Might have to whip some up next week for dinner… 2. Precise V5 Rolling Ball Pilot Pens I am super picky about my writing[Read more]

What I Wore Wednesday

Hi Friends!  An oldie but a goodie, I decided to write a new WIWW post!!  I know each time that I have written one of these posts in the past several months or so I say that I’m going to try to keep up with them and continue posting on a weekly basis, and then I never do.  So I’m not going to make one of those promises today, haha, but I hope I can keep up with them!  I[Read more]

Meal Plan Monday

Happy Monday, friends!  Hope you had a great weekend and are ready for the week ahead!  I’m not sure I’m quite ready (pretty much am never ready for Monday), but at least I know what we’re having for dinner each night! Spaghetti and Caesar Salad We haven’t had pasta since before Christmas, and since spaghetti is Brantley’s favorite meal, she has been lobbying hard lately to have it for dinner!  I decided to give in and we ate it last[Read more]

Handmade Closet: Two Dress Staples

As soon as Christmas is over, and certainly after Valentine’s Day, my mind starts to wander away from jackets, scarves, sweaters, and boots, and towards lighter weight dresses, short sleeves, and sandals!  And though I really loved all the clothes I made for myself over this past fall and winter, I am ready to challenge myself again with some beautiful new spring and summer clothes! As I look through all the beautiful and amazing new spring patterns from my favorite[Read more]

Meal Plan Monday

Hi Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Here’s what’s on our menu for this week: Ham, Southern Fried Cabbage, and Broccoli Ham and broccoli are old stand-bys in this house, but I have just rediscovered sauteed cabbage as a tasty and easy side dish.  My mom used to make it a lot when I was growing up, and I used to love it.  I actually made this meal last night, and the cabbage was great!  It sautes in[Read more]
