TGIF, friends!  Is anyone else really feeling this Friday today??  I feel like I’m crawling toward the finish line after a busy week. Today for my Friday Favorites, I’m spotlighting a few of my favorite local small business establishments!  Being a small business owner myself, I know the importance of shopping small and supporting our local establishments and in turn, our local economy.  So whenever we can, we visit these favorites that I know you’ll just love! In My Shopping Cart: Midi Dresses + Meal Plan Monday

Happy Monday, my friends!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  We were able to get some good rest (hallelujah!!), do some long-needed things around the house, and just spend some time taking it easy as a family. As I start seeing more and more fall fashion sneak peeks, I get more and more excited for the upcoming season.  Jeans, booties, cardigans, and allllll my favorites!  But, it will be sweltering for at least another month and a half, so[Read more]

Friday Favorites

Hello my friends!  I hope you have had a wonderful week.  We are wrapping up our first FULL week of school, and I think we are all exhausted!  Again!  We had flag football, gymnastics, softball, choir, I joined a gym, went to the dentist, and a TOTALLY PACKED work schedule that made for a busy, busy week.  But luckily we only have a few easy obligations this weekend and can chill out, regroup, and get some laundry put away (FINALLY).[Read more]

Summer “Reading”

I love to read.  I love books, I love stories.  But am I going to make time to sit down with a book one-on-one and read when I have precisely 867,932 things on my to-do list that are far more essential and critical?  Unlikely.  BUT, I am ALL ABOUT listening to books!  While I’m driving, while I’m cooking, while I’m exercising, while I’m working, I am multi-tasking like a BOSS and listening to all kinds of podcasts and books! This[Read more]

Friday Favorites

We survived the first (half)week of school! And we are all EXHAUSTED!!! We maxed out the beginning of our week with back to school errands, prep, and a bit of last day of summer fun, and then we had to get down to business and serious for school!  The early mornings and long days have gotten us back into the swing of things, but we are wiped.  We’re ready for a pretty low-key weekend to gear us up for our[Read more]

Back to School 2018

And here we are.  Back to school. Did we mark everything off our summer bucket list?  No.  But did we make the most of the summer break that we had?  We certainly made a valiant effort. All three kids started back to school yesterday, all at the same school, my beautiful babies.  Honestly, most days this summer I took for granted.  Late mornings, coffee in my pjs, snuggles on the sofa.  Sweet conversations and pressure-free bedtimes.  All summer long I thought,[Read more]

Friday Favorites

TGIF!  But actually, it’s more like ISIF (I’m Sad It’s Friday) because the kids go back to school next week.  Though I AM looking forward to more structure and routine, and the kids are SO EXCITED about going back to school, I just can’t help but be a sappy sentimental mom, just in disbelief that the kids are growing up so fast. BUT… let’s not get into all that quite yet!  Today I thought I’d bring back an old post[Read more]

Christmas (Cards!) in July with Basic Invite

You might say that I’m a procrastinator.  I love a good deadline, have no problems staying up late to get projects done, and actually often do the best work when I’m under a bit of pressure.  BUT, for about five years running now, come December 1st, I am rushing to create our family’s Christmas Cards.  I am down to the wire, rushing shipping, and licking stamps (okay, not licking stamps, sticking stamps) in the post office lobby to ship the cards out[Read more]

Luton + Midkiff Beach Trip 2018: Port St. Joe

We spent last week in Port St. Joe, Florida with my side of the family for our second (and final) beach vacation of the summer.  We ate, we drank, the kids played, and we had a great time.  Here’s oh, just a few picks of our sunny week on the Gulf! On our way down, we stopped in Dothan, Alabama at Hunt’s Fish Camp for some shrimp, fish, oysters, and scallops before we ate more shrimp, fish, oysters, and scallops[Read more]

Prime Day Picks

Hello, my friends!  Happy Tuesday!  I am back after our last beach trip of the summer (post to come later this week!) and have about 9000 things on my to-do list (who’s with me??).   School starts back in TWO AND A HALF WEEKS (OMG!!!!) and I have some serious shopping that needs to be done. And there’s nothing like perfect timing- Amazon’s PRIME DAY started yesterday!  Amazon is offering awesome deals and perhaps by waiting until today, I’ve avoided site[Read more]
