Lutons Lately

First of all, Happy Valentine’s Day! The kids are so excited- they had their cute red and pink outfits ready this morning, and their valentines all ready for their classmates. We had heart-sprinkled donuts for breakfast, and small chocolate Valentine treats ready for the kids. And Scott and I are heading out on a Valentine lunch date which is more our speed anyway. We don’t make a huge deal out of Valentine’s Day, but we definitely share and spread the[Read more]

Our Very Fancy New Year’s Eve Party

We have a lot of wonderful holiday traditions that we keep up with each year, but one of my favorites is our “Very Fancy New Year’s Eve Party!” It’s no big secret that we’re homebodies but several years ago, Brantley and I wanted New Year’s Eve to be a bit more fun than Scott was hoping for. So we dressed up, put on makeup, and did our hair, made some simple appetizers, she made the decoration (homemade signs and streamers), and called[Read more]

Happy New Year! + My Word of the Year

Happy New Year! Welcome 2019!! I hope you had a wonderful evening bringing in the New Year like we did (on the couch, in our jammies, with some champagne :)). I love New Years! A fresh start, new goals and plans, new intentions. A clean slate. I don’t see it as being a lot of pressure, I see it more as being a starting place for big changes. And I like change. The past few years, I’ve picked a word[Read more]

Highlights of 2018

I am so glad that I am able to look back on 2018 with fondness- our family had a really wonderful year! It was not without its challenges, struggles, and stresses FOR SURE, but it was also full of laughter, togetherness, learning, growing, adjusting, readjusting, and so much love. I have compiled some of our highlights of year, and most of them are pretty ordinary family events! But in this family, it’s the wonderful ordinary mundane moments that make a[Read more]

Luton Family Christmas 2018

Hello my friends! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas over the past few days! We have prasied, taken it easy, stayed in jammies, eaten well, played games, rested, and generally had a wonderful few days of Christmas celebration. We are right in the middle of my favorite week of the year, when you just take it easy, clean up bit by bit, eat whatever, take naps, play games, declutter a bit, and just rest after the chaos[Read more]

Merry Christmas!

Hello my friends! And Merry Christmas Eve! After a relaxing weekend, a marathon gift-wrapping session, a few last-minute orders finally coming in, and some stocking-stuffer shopping, I think we are finally ready for Christmas! What about you? The kids and I spent Friday morning trying to clean up a bit before my in-laws came to visit. Did you know that Santa Claus doesn’t come to dirty houses? He also won’t leave toys for children whose rooms aren’t clean? That’s what I’ve[Read more]

Bammy’s Disney Birthday

For my mom’s 60th birthday, my parents took my whole family to Disney World over the week of Thanksgiving.  After we had the most magical time last year, we were so excited to have the opportunity to go back so soon!  And this time, with Bammy, PaDaddy, Uncle Ramsey, Aunt Beth, and cousins Sally Kate and William!  And we knew that just like last year, we wanted to SURPRISE the kids! *Yes, we wanted to surprise them to see the excitement in[Read more]

Five on Friday

Hello my friends!  We’ve made it through the week, and I finally feel like I’m back in the groove after Thanksgiving, just in time for the weekend, haha!  Here are five random fun things I’m sharing today: Anyone else’s elves coming tomorrow morning??  I know some of you overachievers have been elf-on-the-shelfing since the day after Thanksgiving, but we always kick it off with our elves, Noodles, Sprinkles, and Sparkles, on December 1st.  I always start out really excited with[Read more]

The Sweet Spot of Parenting

Happy NOVEMBER! Can you even believe there’s only two months left in 2018??  Blows. My. Mind.  After 3 Trunk/Trick or Treats, 4 different costumes for 4 different occasions for each of the 3 kids, and 9,734 pieces of candy, I am happy to be through Halloween and on the other side!  I really do love Halloween; I have such fond memories of counting down the days to dressing up and going door to door in search of my favorite candies[Read more]

Weekend Recap + Weekly Meal Plan

Hello my friends!  I hope you had a great weekend!  We have a BUSY week ahead, but we had fun kicking off all our Halloween festivities over the weekend! On Friday, the kids dressed up as their future selves for school.  We were in a rush to get out the door (when are we not on school mornings?!), so I didn’t get a picture- but Ben dressed up as a Clemson football player, Gracie was a chef, and Brantley was[Read more]
