Friday Favorites

I’m not sure I could be more excited that today is FRIDAY!  Maybe if it were next Friday (right before our Spring Break starts), but this is pretty good too.  Bennett has a baseball game tonight and we have the girls’ soccer games Saturday morning, and then it’s wide open.  Sadly the house is a wreck and I have PILES of laundry today, but still–WEEKEND! With the weather finally warming up a bit, I have been craving lighter meals for dinners.  I[Read more]

Easy Chocolate Peanut Butter Ice Cream Pie

I love a good frivolous celebration, and so Pi Day last week was the perfect excuse to have a sweet treat after dinner to celebrate a made-up holiday!  I wanted to make something very simple with very few ingredients, and this ice cream pie was perfect! As Ben and I walked into Kroger, I got the idea for the ice cream pie.  A pre-made pie crust filled with ice cream and a yummy topping would make for a super easy,[Read more]

Chattanooga Field Trip + Weekly Meal Plan

Hello Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Ours started out crazy and then slowed down considerably which was wonderful. My mom came into town on Thursday night to help with the kids so that I could go on an all-day field trip with Brantley and her FOCUS class.  Scott had an event all day Friday and was unable to take the other kids to school, so Bammy picked up the slack and then some!  I wanted to share[Read more]

Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts

One of our very favorite side dishes is Bacon Roasted Brussels Sprouts.  When we ask Ben what he wants for dinner, his response is always the same– “Steak and Brussels Sprouts!”   When we grill during the fall and summer, we make them on almost a weekly basis, but they are really great with pork, chicken, fish- all year round (clearly, they’re our go-to side dish with steaks!).  And if you’ve never had brussels sprouts or are convinced that you[Read more]

Happy Birthday B’Mama and Weekly Meal Plan

Hi Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Ours was pretty quiet on Saturday (full of laundry and bathroom cleaning :/), but Sunday we celebrated! Sunday was my grandmother’s 85th birthday!  So after church, we headed to Atlanta to celebrate with her, my mom, and a bunch of her retirement community friends for a little party! I was the first grandchild on my mom’s side of the family, and bestowed the lovely name- B’mama- upon my grandmother.  It stuck[Read more]

Weekend Recap + Weekly Meal Plan

Hello Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  We wrapped up our Winter Break with a (QUICK!) trip to Blue Ridge, and then the girls got sick.  Womp wahhhh.  But I think everyone is on the mend and back to school today (well, Ben tomorrow).  Here’s a bit from our weekend: The kids had a big time in the mountains!  They love climbing on PaDaddy’s tractor and taking Gator rides.  So that’s what we did! We got home on[Read more]

Happy Valentine’s Day + Goings On + Weekly Meal Plan

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!  I hope your day is full of love in one way, shape, or form, and that you are able to give a little bit away too.  We had a fun morning with the kids- heart shaped pancakes and some candy and fun goodies.  They were all SO excited about their valentines for their friends at school- Fun Dip for Brantley’s class, Kool Aid for Grayson’s class, and Star Wars Glow Sticks for Ben’s class.  No doubt[Read more]

Instant Pot French Dip Sandwiches

When I was planning our dinner for Super Bowl Sunday, I kept suggesting all the usual suspects to Scott, and nothing was sounding great to either of us.  Wings?  No. Pizza?  Nope.  Burgers?  I had one yesterday.  I was striking out.  So I went into the store without knowing what we were going to be having.  Looking through the produce and meat department,  I finally saw hoagie rolls, and thought roast beef sandwiches would be delish!  I grabbed the rolls,[Read more]

Hello Monday + Weekly Meal Plan

Hi Friends!  So, we all woke up feeling a little low this morning since the Falcons did not prevail last night (AKA- totally blew it) in the Super Bowl.  So sad!  But, at least we had good food (new recipe coming tomorrow!), Lady Gaga was pretty awesome, and we didn’t have much we HAD to do today, so we’ve laid pretty low! Here are a few things I’m saying hello to this morning: Hello Favorite Bible Verse Exodus 14:14 is[Read more]

Friday Favorites: Super Bowl Snacks

Our very own Atlanta Falcons are playing in the Super Bowl this Sunday!!!  #RISEUP! Though I do have to admit that we are kinda bandwagon fans, because before last year, we have never really watched much pro football.  But we are excited to have a team that we are definitely pulling for this year, and I have been scanning Pinterest and my favorite food blogs all week for some yummy super bowl snacks (the best part of the game, duh)![Read more]
