Friday Favorites

Hello friends! It’s been a week… we typically have a week off for the week of President’s Day, and this year we only had last Friday, and Monday and Tuesday of this week off. And MAN do I know now how much we need that full week off! I’ve been confused about what day it was, discombobulated, off our routine. But I did have one fun day (that I’ll share before too much longer!), and of course, my favorites of the week!

Abducted in Plain Sight (and all the memes)
TELL ME YOU’VE SEEN THIS DOCUMENTARY. And then please tell me that you were yelling at your tv the entire time. Holy moly, this is the craziest story, and if you’re ever feeling like you’re failing as a parent, just watch this movie! As the movie kept going on I kept thinking, “I can’t judge these parents, they were doing the best they could,” but by the end I was just convinced they had LOST THEIR MINDS. A must-watch!! And please, after you watch the documentary, google “Abducted in Plain Sight memes” and you will not be disappointed. As one article put it, “sickeningly spot-on.”

Hummus-Crusted Chicken and Vegetables
I made this earlier this week and it was so different, so easy, and SO GOOD! I’ve never made hummus-crusted chicken, but I will make it over and over again. It gets a bit crusty, but really, mixed with the vegetable juices and olive oil, make a creamy sauce for the chicken and vegetables. It roasts all on one sheet pan, and in only 25 minutes. I added an additional zucchini and did slice the chicken breasts in half long ways to make them thinner so they’s cook all the way through. I might change up the veg a bit going forward, but the olives and the hummus will stick around for sure. SO GOOD!

Bohemian Rhapsody
We were finally able to rent Bohemian Rhapsody from the comfort of our sofas, and LOVED it! Of course, we’re big Queen fans, but I could hardly look away. Rami Malek was amazing, and I hope he wins Best Actor!

The Dropout Podcast
The story of Elizabeth Holmes and the rise and fall of her medical-tech company, Theranos, is pretty unbelievable. I’ve heard the book Bad Blood by John Carreyrou is great, but the podcast is pretty captivating too.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend! We are headed to a wedding of one of our good friend’s today, and a gala tomorrow night! Sunday will be for relaxing.  Have a good one!
