Friday Favorites

Hello my friends!  We have made it through another December week and are ONE STEP CLOSER to Christmas!!  Are you done with your shopping?  I HAVE SO MUCH LEFT TO DO.  Amazon Prime and UPS are gonna be wearing out the cement in my driveway, I’m afraid, over the next week, haha!

I have a special evening planned tonight for me and Brantley, and then a marathon Christmas baking session for the whole fam planned for Saturday.  Are you doing anything fun and Christmasy this weekend??  In the meantime, I’m sharing a bunch of favorite things from this week! HAPPY FRIDAY!

Dumplin’ on Netflix
Watch. This. Movie!!!  I watched it while Scott was out at an event the other night, and couldn’t have loved it more.  Of course the Dolly Parton soundtrack was the first clue that I was going to be obsessed, but it just got better from there.  Great story (based on a popular book of the same name) and great message.  I laughed,  I cried like a baby, and cheered for all the characters.  If you want a feel-good movie with a main character you can really pull for, watch this!!

Cheeseburger Soup from Skinnytaste
I made this for dinner the other night and it was a big hit.  It’s a thick and hearty soup, but not too heavy.  You cook a quarter of a head of cauliflower in the soup, and then blend it up with some of the broth then add it back to thicken the soup!  How smart is that?!  Super easy to make for a weeknight and makes enough for a few servings of leftovers for lunch the next day!

Christmas Printables
Need an easy idea for your elf on the shelf?  Or something to fill your kids’ time in the car travelling from house to house?  These free Christmas printables are really cute and good for kids of all ages!

Atlanta Gladiators Hockey Game
We really had such a fun time at the Atlanta Gladiators Hockey game on Sunday!  I haven’t been to a hockey game since high school, and the kids had never been.  We were given tickets from a colleague of Scott’s and just had a great time!  The arena wasn’t crowded, we had great seats and followed the game easily, and since the kids were allowed to get candy and french fries, they had a ball (as long as there’s food, they’re happy!).  Ben was able to drop the puck to start the game, and even officially announced the start of the game, saying, “let’s play hockey!” It was the cutest thing ever.  Brantley will have the opportunity to sing the National Anthem at another game with her chorus in the spring, and we can’t wait to go back!

Paperless Post Virtual Notecards
I love hand-written notes and beautiful personalized notecards, but sometimes an email works too! Paperless Post provides the best of both worlds.  They have the best selection of virtual notecards that you can personalize that look like real letters but go straight to your recipeint’s inbox!  Thinking of letting the kids send out emailed thank you’s after the holidays!  I love the ones above for Brantley, these for Gracie, and these for Ben.  Might have to use these for myself, ha!  They also have the cutest online party invitations for the holidays!  Make me want to throw a Christmas party just to send out the cute invites!!

Bodyguard on Netflix
Netflix is on a roll!!  I’d heard really good reviews of Bodyguard, so I decided to give it a watch, and was hooked.  Richard Madden (or  Stark for all my GOT friends) is a war veteran turned security expert for the British home secretary, and it’s a political thriller which is right up my alley!  It’s not a million episodes (maybe 8? I can’t remember), and totally doable in a weekend.  Perfect for a pre-holiday binge!

That’s all I’ve got for today!  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!
