We survived the first (half)week of school! And we are all EXHAUSTED!!! We maxed out the beginning of our week with back to school errands, prep, and a bit of last day of summer fun, and then we had to get down to business and serious for school! The early mornings and long days have gotten us back into the swing of things, but we are wiped. We’re ready for a pretty low-key weekend to gear us up for our first FULL week of school next week!
Today I’m sharing another collection of my Friday Favorites for the week. I hope you have a GREAT Friday and a wonderful weekend!
I have been watching HBO’s Sharp Objects and am obsessed!! When I saw that it was coming to HBO and it was based on the Gillian Flynn book of the same name, I actually went ahead and read the book first. It was really, really good, and so is the show. There are differences for sure, but I can’t wait to see the rest of the book come to life! PS- we stream all our TV and watch it through an HBO subscription on Amazon Prime!
I’m not a big hoop wearer, but I’ve been wearing these a lot lately! They’re a little boho, and a little more interesting than your typical hoops, and it doesn’t hurt that they were only $8!
I’ve talked about our favorite magical and amazing little children’s bookstore here before, but the Harry Potter party that we attended on Tuesday at The Story Shop was just incredible! They thought of every last detail. There were butterbeer and riddles (Tom Riddles!), we made balloon Hedwigs, went on a scavenger hunt through the store, colored, took pictures, and just had a great time. Even my oldest friend and another friend of hers drove a little over an hour and a half away to come to the shop! But that’s just how great it is. If you’re ever in or near Monroe, GA, you definitely need to stop in!
The CUTEST and most perfect fall top is under $10 and from Wal Mart! I grabbed this striped ruffle sleeve peplum top in the store the other day, and I could kick myself for not buying it in every color. It’s a flattering silhouette and is the perfect length (I’m picky about the length of my tops!). It seems to be sold out online, but if you see it in your local Wal Mart, TRUST ME and grab one while you can!
I made Taco Soup very similar to this recipe last night, and we ate it ALL! As in, there was none left in the pot, and everyone had seconds! I used a pound of ground turkey instead of chicken, and instead of the enchilada sauce, I used two cans of Rotel and a can of diced chilies, and I also added a packet of Ranch dressing mix and a half an onion, diced. It was super easy, didn’t take much time, and very comforting on a rainy night. I could eat it once a week, easy.
