What I Wore + Weekly Meal Plan

What a week, yall!  Spring break ended calmly with plenty of relaxation and about 217 loads of laundry completed, just in time to kick off a beast of a week with tons to do, and oh yeah, Scott out of town for five-sevenths of it.  Well, he’s just in Atlanta, but he’s holed up in a downtown hotel all week for a conference and might as well be across the country!  But we are holding it down, rocking and rolling, and just working for the weekend.  And I even got dressed a few days!

I am so, so happy to see 70’s in the forecast this week because I am over jeans and ready for dresses and sandals!  We keep getting a taste of spring and then 4 days straight of rain and forties or something miserable.  But all is forgiven on those glorious sunny afternoons!  Here’s what I’ve been wearing in this crazy topsy-turvy weather lately:

Easter Sunday!  It’s hard to tell in the photo, but this dress had such beautiful texture and was almost feathery.  It was comfortable and feminine, and it coordinated with the outfits I made the kids (unintentionally!), so that was a bonus. 🙂

As far as I’m concerned, if it’s embroidered, then I want it.  Dresses and tops especially!  I wore this out to dinner with Scott while the kids were having the time of their lives in Blue Ridge with Bammy and PaDaddy.  Easy breezy swing dresses are my absolute fave for warm weather, and this one is no exception!

I was excited to tag along with Scott last week and eat lunch at the City Club of Buckhead while he was having lunch with a colleague.  When I ordered this navy lace-up dress a few weeks back, I didn’t intend on it being a business/work dress, but I think it can easily be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.  It’s such a nice, high-quality sturdy knit fabric that is fitted but doesn’t show every imperfection.  I wore it with my favorite nude sandals for this business lunch, but think it would be just as cute with flip flops or even sneakers!

This past Monday I headed back into Atlanta again for a meeting, It was chilly and rainy, but boots and a jacket over a springy dress were perfect.  This leather jacket was a GREAT buy since it is such a great transitional piece and can easily help make spring clothes work, even when it still feels wintery out.

I have been collecting new spring dresses as fast as I can, but I can’t quit reaching for this neutral stripe peplum top!  It’s lightweight, neutral, and a new favorite to wear.  I’ve been pairing it with neutral accessories, but it would be so cute with a pair of bright earrings or cute, colorful wedges!

Since Scott is gone through Thursday, I told the kids that they could each pick a meal that we would eat for dinner one night.  I thought we were going to be hit with the usual pizza, spaghetti, etc., but they had some great ideas!  Ben wanted chicken with green beans and rolls, Brantley wanted steak, roasted potatoes, and beets, and Gracie wanted Kids Cuisine frozen dinners, haha (and gross)!  So I added them to our meal plan for the week and they have been so excited! #momwin! We might have to incorporate that idea into regular meal planning! So here’s what we’ll be eating this week:

Sunday- Rotisserie Chicken, Green Beans, and Rolls
Monday- Kids Cuisines (not for me, haha– I ate eating leftover sauteed salmon and Trader Joe’s green salad)
Tuesday- Greek Salad Bowls (shown above- SO GOOD!)
Wednesday- Pizza (again, not for me, I’ll be eating Roasted Asparagus Salad)
Thursday- Trader Joe’s Mandarin Chick’n with Brown Rice and Broccoli
Friday- Steak with Roasted Potatoes, Zucchini, and Beets
