Hello friends! I hope your week is going well so far! I’m sharing my outfits for the week for What I Wore Wednesday. I’m always inspired by Lindsey from The Pleated Poppy, and here’s what she says:
“As a stay-at-home, work-at-home mom, I have always found it to be a struggle to put fashion before comfort – I’d rather stay cozy and lounge in grubby clothes all day – are you with me?! But really, I don’t actually feel better. I feel unmotivated and lazy, and my clothing encouraged that. Over the years, I have found things that I feel good in and that feel good to be in – I have not sacrificed comfort for style, but found a way to marry them. I have also had a lot of fails over the years, and have really started to hone what my style really is, while still giving myself freedom to have fun and try new things.”
Amen, right?! I 100% relate, and that’s why I also post on What I Wore Wednesdays. So here’s what I have to share this week!
One of my very favorite handmade garments in my closet- this black and white buffalo check flannel shift dress! I love it on its own or with tights, and this past week has been chilly, so tights it is! The pearl shift dress is one of the most used and most versatile patterns I have in my collection, and such an easy pattern to sew up!
I am finally embracing athleisure! My work out gear has desperately needed an upgrade for such a long time (I would rather buy real clothes versus work out clothes!), and I finally gave in when I saw the new lines in my Wal-Mart! I snagged some amazing deals, and got 2 pairs of leggings, 2 tops, and 2 pull-overs for $75! All black and gray, all coordinating, and all really cute!!
It was cold on Sunday! But my fleece leggings kept me warm under my dress at church! I’ve had this burgundy dress from Old Navy for years and it’s an easy one to throw on for a quick and easy outfit.
Seriously, my new favorite piece. This jacket is comfortable, versatile, and so far I’ve worn it twice and gotten repeated compliments both times! I can’t wait to throw it on over a few romantic floral dresses for a totally different look. But it was super easy to layer it over a basic charcoal gray tee the other day for a casual but pulled together outfit.
