Hello! I hope everyone had a wonderful Fourth! We had a BIG day (I’ll share more about it tomorrow!), and honestly, I’m still recovering from it! We did WAY more in one day than we usually do (and A LOTTTTTTT of walking), and yesterday Scott and I both had a lot of work to catch up on and we were so tired! But now it’s Thursday and the weekend is in sight!
I have been really slacking with my What I Wore posts the past few weeks (and I’m a day late today, oops!), but I have a few outfits to share today that I wore this past week, and a few more that were my holiday back-ups that you’ll probably see me wearing soon!
I wore this pretty floral dress to church this past Sunday and am IN LOVE with it. It has a few different features that I find flattering on me- a faux wrap style, and a v-neckline. I have a pretty high natural waist (and a long torso for as short as I am), and this dress hits me just in the right spot. It doesn’t hurt that it is a pretty floral print in a delicate chiffon, and though it doesn’t look like it as much here, the sleeves are sheer so it’s not hot at all, even with the long sleeves. A winner in my book. Also, wouldn’t this be so pretty for a bridal shower or a baby shower? And sadly, my beloved nude wedges bit the bullet when the wedge started to pull away from the footbed in church. 🙁 So sad! But I wore them several years and definitely got my money’s worth. Guess I’ll just have to get some new ones!
I didn’t take a picture of the outfit I wore on the Fourth of July on my own, so this will have to do, haha! I wore a couple of old reliables– this navy and white striped dress is an all-time favorite; I wear it all the time. And my lace up block heel sandals are actually really comfortable (though, I do have to say, my dogs were barking after the long day we had!). And I added my patriotic flair with red, white, and blue triple tassel earrings! I made them Monday night, and got SO MANY compliments on them all day long! They were really fun and Ben said, “mommy, your earrings are really beautiful.” Sweet boy!
I had a few outfits that were in the running for my Fourth outfit, and they’re worth sharing too!
You know I love a pretty Off Shoulder Dress, and this one is no different! The stripes and tasseled ties are totally in my wheelhouse (and with red accessories, it would have been perfect for a pool party or a fun house party on the Fourth), but ultimately I figured I wouldn’t want to be pulling at my shoulders all day long. But, the dress will certainly make an appearance somewhere before the summer ends!
And this embroidered off shoulder top is so pretty, I even considered wearing shorts! It would be perfect for a fun afternoon shopping or going out to eat, but it wasn’t quite patriotic enough for me, and again with the off shoulder- I didn’t want to be tugging at it all day. But this one will be worn this week for sure!
