What I Wore

Hello friends!  A couple dresses (one that feels like a satin slip dress!), denim shorts, and even a handmade garment–  I did a better job of taking pics of my outfits this past week! For my WIW post today, here’s what I wore this past week:

If my wardrobe lacks anything, it’s business wear.  I used to have tons of suits and work dresses, but in the last 6 years of being a stay at home mom, those pieces were all sold, donated, don’t fit anymore, or are out of style!  So I have been slowly acquiring new work pieces that are also versatile enough to wear to church or out to dinner, so I can get good use out of them.  I have also been making them!  I had this light blue linen that I really wanted to make a dress with, and thought it would be perfect for the Farrow Dress– a great swingy, shift-style that would be work appropriate, but also good for church or other dress-appropriate events (which is pretty much everything, as far as I’m concerned!). I love how it turned out and am anxious to wear it again.

I found some denim shorts that I love!  WalMart came through for me, and only $12!  They’re cute and casual and fit well, and they’ve been on repeat ever since!

Like I said, denim shorts on repeat!  I wore them with this red embroidered top last weekend and was casual and comfortable.

Monday night, I was able to go out to a fun Mom’s Night Out event, and I wore one of my favorite summer dresses!  This orange and white button up maxi dress is a cotton/poly blend, but it feels like satin!  So comfortable and was perfect for a night out.

My new colleague Michele and I made a whirl-wind 24 hour trip up to Bryson City, North Carolina on Monday night (we left straight from the Mom’s Night Out event!), to meet with new potential Magnolia Marketing Group clients on Tuesday morning.  I packed this trusty embroidered chambray Madewell dress to wear, and it never lets me down!
