From a handmade pink dress to an embroidered shift, to a jade maxi, this week’s outfits have been almost exclusively dresses! They are easy and cool for the summer, and really take the thought out of getting dressed, which is key for me in the summertime (since I’m usually throwing something on quickly to run to the store or something)! So here’s what I wore this week:
One of my favorite handmade dresses, and a new favorite pair of sandals! These gold wedges are actually more like “flatforms” in that they are platforms without much of a higher heel- hence FLAT-forms! They’re super comfortable, and since they’re a soft gold metallic (the photo makes them look much shinier than they are in real life), they go with everything.
This short sleeved embroidered summer dress from Old Navy was one of my favorites in the spring (I also have it in yellow!), but I saw this one on my FAVE online thrift shop, ThredUp, a few weeks back! I was especially pumped, since I had a little over $20 in credit, so I ordered this bad boy for only $9!! I love ThredUp because all the clothes they accept from sellers are in pristine condition- many of the garments still have tags on, or if they have been worn, they look like they’re still in perfect condition. I also love it because you can get name brand items (I often seek out J.Crew, Boden, and Anthro brands) for such a bargain!! Also, if you use my link (like, THIS ONE RIGHT HERE), you can get $10 off your first order! Not too shabby!
Before the kids came home last week, Scott and I snuck in another date night! You gotta take advantage of them when you can, so we stole away to a restaurant we had been wanting to try in Monroe. Dinner wasn’t great, but we still had fun!
After wearing this maxi dress the other day, I decided that I need more maxi dresses, haha! You know me and my love for tassels, so the braided tassel tie on this one is right up my alley. Also, I need more green in my closet! I love this jade jewel tone–something a little different for me.
I made this pink floral ruffle dress for a pattern test that has not quite been launched yet! But I love it and wore it to church on Sunday, and had to share it! I used a very lightweight rayon from the fabric store, and it drapes so nicely. I can’t wait to share more once the pattern is officially launched, and sew up a few other options!

I didn’t get a picture before I left, but I wore another short sleeve embroidered dress to a work event on Monday night! Just like I love wearing dresses day-to-day, I love wearing them to work events. This one is super versatile too, I’ve worn it with wedges and heels out to dinner or to a work function, and also with flat sandals to run errands.
And yesterday! I finally broke the dress streak and decided to wear one of my favorite new summer blouses! Stripes, embroidery, AND tassels?? Yes, please! This top screams summer, and I love all the bright colors against the white shorts. And again, my fave gold wedges!
