What I Wore + LuLaRoe Discount!

In addition to sharing my outfits this week, I have a very special surprise for you!!  So let’s just get to it–here’s what I wore this week:

Since it was FREEZING COLD last week, I decided to get the last bit of use out of my blanket scarves for the year (hopefully?!)!  I wore this to Ben’s school for conferences and had to throw my big coat on too!

Blanket Scarf- Goodwill for $2!!

Chambray Button Up Tunic- Belk

Skinny Jeans- Gap

Burgundy Velvet Lace Up Flats- Target

Sooo…sometimes an outfit just works, and when it’s 4:30 in the morning and you’re getting ready for a field trip, you just wear said outfit over again…even if it’s the next day??  I will say the shirt is the only thing I wore two days in a row– but it’s the same basic outfit idea.  But you know what??  I was comfortable and the layers were perfect for the field trip.  No shame in my outfit repeating game.

Camo Jacket- Abercrombie & Fitch via TJ Maxx

Jeans- Lee from WalMart

New Balance Tennies- Macy’s

When I was in college, I worked at the Lancome counter at Von Maur.  We had to wear all black under our smocks, and so about half my wardrobe was all black.   I have since added a LOT more color in, but I still love an all black outfit.  A blank slate for lots of fun accessories.  With my black tunic and black leggings that I wore the other day, I wore two of my favorites- my over the knee boots and my favorite tassel necklace!

Brown Over the Knee Boots- Target

It was a beautiful day on Sunday, but still a little chilly in the morning.  I wore this to church, but by the afternoon, I was in short sleeves!

Sooooo…Let’s talk LuLaRoe.  I had heard about the brand for quite some time, but hadn’t been to a party or really seen the products in person.  I knew their leggings were supposed to be amazing, the pieces were very versatile and comfortable, but I just had not taken the leap and made a purchase.  But one of my friends, Katie Cochensparger, just recently became a VIP LuLaRoe consultant, and offered me the opportunity to review a LuLaRoe garment of my choice!!  So with the spring and summer right at our doorstep, I knew I wanted a dress, and after looking at the different styles, I knew the swingy Carly dress would be perfect!  I decided on this super neutral sage/gray Carly that I am TOTALLY obsessed with.  It has short sleeves, so it’s great for layering right now when the mornings still demand a jacket.  It’s roomy and swingy, so it’s very forgiving (I’m looking at you, Taco Tuesdays), and has a flattering high-low hemline so it’s not dowdy at all.  If y’all follow my WIW posts, you know that I really love super versatile pieces that I can wear lots of different ways with a change in accessories, shoes, or additional layers.  And this dress can be worn about a million different ways!!  Here I kept it super neutral and just added my old standby- my camo jacket, my trusty tassel necklace and nude peep-toe booties, but I can totally see adding pops of color with tassel earrings, or a bright scarf, or a cute belt to define the waist.  All I know is that I am so happy with it and will only need about 20 more Carlys to get me through the summer. 🙂

And Katie is so generous to offer a very special discount to all my wonderful readers!!  Just visit her LuLaRoe Facebook page or Instagram page, and DM her the code: goatandlulu for a special discount!  And thank you SO MUCH, Katie, I’m a LuLaRoe convert!

Tassel Necklace- Crawford Collections

Nude Peep Tor Booties- Old Navy

Monday was SO nice- in the 70’s all day- and this linen jacket that my mom got me (Thanks, Mom!) was perfect over a sleeveless tunic and jeans!  This kind of spring weather is what I like the best- mild and totally comfortable in jeans and long sleeves.

Linen Jacket- Gift

White Tiered Sleeveless Tunic- TJ Maxx

Skinny Jeans- Target

Perforated Booties- TJ Maxx

Tassel Necklace- Crawford Collections (I clearly need another favorite necklace!)

I love the off the shoulder and cold shoulder trend this season.  Yesterday was really warm, but the shoulder cut outs in this shirt kept me cool!  I think it’ll still be wearable through the warmer months with white jeans or tan shorts and sandals.
