What I Wore

Hi Friends!  Hope you’re having a great week so far!  I’m here to share my outfits for the week for What I Wore–

I have a great friend in our small group at church who has a friend who is moving.  They are downsizing, and she was getting rid of 4 trashbags FULLLLLLLLLLLL of clothes.  She gave them to my friend to look through, and then my friend gave them to ME to look through!  90% of the clothes either had tags still on them, or looked like they had been worn once, and were in pristine condition.  Blessings come in many different forms, and this was definitely one.  This tunic was one of the trashbag-hand-me-downs, and I love it!!  You know I love a good tunic (my favorite mom uniform is the tunic-skinny jean- ballet flat combo), and this one is perfect.  Pair it with my fave skinnies and we’ve got a no-brainer outfit.

Saturday was spent at the ball fields!!  I was really afraid it was going to be cold (like it had been the night before), so I dressed in layers and brought blankets too!  But it actually turned out so nice out, and the vest was the perfect layer.

I have mentioned it in the past, but I LOVE doing pattern testing!  I am in a few pattern designers’ testing groups now, and I love having the opportunity to work with pattern designers to get their designs production-ready and give my perspective on the patterns.  I was lucky enough to work with the lovely Kate of See Kate Sew in the testing of her Flora Top!  The pattern was released a while back as a free pattern (I’ve made a few already before), but now she is adjusting the pattern a bit and extending the sizing.  And this is the newest top I made for the pattern test!  I had been hoarding this black floral knit for so long, really because I just didn’t have the right pattern to use with it, but the Flora was perfect.  It has a lovely peplum skirt and a ruffle at the bust, elastic-gathered bell sleeves, and it’s an easy sew, which is always a win in my book.  The drape of the lightweight knit was perfect with the ruffles in the top, without adding bulk.  Two thumbs up from this gal!  And thanks Kate, for the opportunity to test with you again!

Black Skinny Pants- Gap

Red Ballet Flats (Made locally in Buford, GA from recycled tires!)- Oka B

My favorite jacket that I have hardly even had to wear this year!  The weather really has been SO unpredictable.  November through last week averaged in the high 60’s and low 70’s (easily!!).  Then SURPRISE!!  Winter arrives in the third week of March, right in time for ALLLLLLL our spring sport to begin.  WHAT?!  Perfect timing, Mother Nature, way to throw everyone off!

Camo Jacket- Abercrombie & Fitch via TJ Maxx

White Blouse- Loft
