Happy Birthday B’Mama and Weekly Meal Plan

Hi Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  Ours was pretty quiet on Saturday (full of laundry and bathroom cleaning :/), but Sunday we celebrated!

Sunday was my grandmother’s 85th birthday!  So after church, we headed to Atlanta to celebrate with her, my mom, and a bunch of her retirement community friends for a little party!

I was the first grandchild on my mom’s side of the family, and bestowed the lovely name- B’mama- upon my grandmother.  It stuck with all the rest of the grandkids, and we still call her B’mama, and my kids do too!

And Gracie thoroughly enjoyed her cake!

B’mama lives on the top floor of her retirement community, so we call her apartment the penthouse, haha!  Brantley and Ben loved looking out the windows into the woods below.

The kids really were well behaved through the entire party (the food definitely helped!).  But they really had fun when B’mama got out a basket of party hats and beaded necklaces for them to play with.  The Lutons love to have a party!

We had such a nice time at the party, and I think B’mama enjoyed herself too!  Happy 85th Birthday, B’mama!  We love you!

I am relying on a few family favorites this week, and keeping our meal plan pretty simple this week.  I can’t *wait* for Wednesday for one of my favorites- Skinnytaste’s Banh Mi Rice Bowl.  Last time I made it, I had several people ask if it was easy to make, and OMG, YES!!!  You make the pork in the slow cooker, and seriously, the hardest part is making rice.  So if you can make a pot of rice, you can make this recipe.  And it is DELICIOUS.  I am also excited for Thursday to try a low country boil in my Instant Pot!  I love how flavors are really concentrated and robust in the Instant Pot, so I have really high hopes for the low country boil.  I’ll let you know how it turns out!

Sunday- Baked Potato Soup

Monday- Grilled Chicken with Three Bean Quinoa Salad

Tuesday- Banh Mi Rice Bowl 

Wednesday- Ham, Green Beans, and Macaroni and Cheese

Thursday- Instant Pot Low Country Boil 

Friday- Spaghetti
