Weekend Recap + Weekly Meal Plan

Hi Friends!  I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  We had an awesome and totally PACKED weekend that was so much fun, and thought I’d share a bit of it today!

We met some of our very best friends in Atlanta at Krog Street Market for lunch on Saturday.  KSM is a mixed use- retail and restaurant- market in Atlanta.  Think of a mall food court, but instead of fast food, all the vendors offer different gourmet food options and everything looks AMAZING.  We got there right as everything was opening which was great, since it started filling up REALLY quickly!  The kids had cheeseburgers and grilled cheese with fries, and Scott had Hot Fried Chicken with a corn muffin and collard greens.

My friend Suzanne and I split an Asian Fried Chicken Po Boy (sounds weird I know, but it was completely delicious) and Pork Dumplings, and it was so, so delicious.  What we all ate was so good, but we were talking about how we want to go back soon because there were so many other things we wanted to try!

After we finished our lunch, we hopped on the Beltline, which is a big greenway/walking/biking path that goes around the city and connects parks and is lined with restaurants and more retail space.  It was our first time on the Beltline, and it was so, so cool.  It rained that morning, but by the time we were out it was cool and overcast, with plenty of puddles for the kids to jump in.  They ran on the path, posed in front of art sculptures, and we adults were able to chat and catch up.  We walked to The Old Fourth Ward Park, which was such a great park for the kids to explore!

We walked to The Old Fourth Ward Park, which was such a great park for the kids to explore!  The park was nice and big for the kids to run around and swing and have a ball, but we adults could sit and talk and see them at all times.  We had such a fun time in the city we love so much with friends that we love so much, and it made it that much better watching our kids become friends!

The kids were exhausted after our big day, but the girls had an even bigger night ahead of them!  Brantley and Gracie had their first spend-the-night party with their sweet friend Saturday night!

Luckily, their friend’s mama is one of my oldest friends, and I felt totally comfortable leaving my girlies in her care.   And of course, they had a ball.  And actually stayed all night!

And since big sisters were away, Ben got a fun one-on-one night with Mom and Dad!  He helped me make dinner (we had steak- his favorite!), and then we had a fun campout in the playroom.  He even got to watch movies on the Ipad before bed- before he passed out of exhaustion!

On Sunday, we took our time waking up!   Ben was worn out and slept a little late, so we made the most of it by hanging out in be and even drinking our first cup of coffee in bed too.  I went and picked up the girls, and then we all headed out to church.  I sewed up a couple of spring tops (more on that soon!), cleaned up the house a bit, the kids played, and we took it easy for the rest of our Sunday.  We have plenty of time to take it easy the rest of our week, since we have WINTER BREAK STARTING TODAY!

Here’s what we’ll be eating for dinner this week:

Monday: Pizza (I have a work event out, so this is for Scott and the kids!)

Tuesday: Blackened Tilapia, Garlic Roasted Green Beans and Mushrooms, and Rice

Wednesday: Beef Pot Roast with Carrots, Potatoes, and Onions, in the Instant Pot

Thursday: Sausage and Tortellini Tomato Soup with Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Friday: Chicken Burrito Bowls

Hope y’all have a wonderful start to your week!
