Happy Valentine’s Day, friends! I hope your day is full of love in one way, shape, or form, and that you are able to give a little bit away too. We had a fun morning with the kids- heart shaped pancakes and some candy and fun goodies. They were all SO excited about their valentines for their friends at school- Fun Dip for Brantley’s class, Kool Aid for Grayson’s class, and Star Wars Glow Sticks for Ben’s class. No doubt that we will have some sugar-loaded kiddos by the time they get out of school today!
Scott and I don’t make a big deal out of Valentine’s Day, and we actually celebrated a day early. Last night, Scott grilled some amazing ribeyes, and I made Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower and a Mixed Greens Salad with roasted beets and blue cheese. We exchanged small gifts, and watched a documentary on the Oklahoma City Bombing…haha, so romantic! He did surprise me with some nicer wine than our usual– he knows the way to my heart, haha!
Last week and our weekend were pretty busy for us. Scott and I worked hard all week, I had an event Thursday night…
…then we had the Father Daughter Dance for the girls and Scott on Friday night. Brantley picked out the pattern for their dresses, and then I took both the girls shopping at the fabric store to pick out the fabric for their dresses. I swore I wouldn’t make tulle dresses again, but they ended up so sweet, and more than worth the pain in the ass that they were to make! 🙂 But they loved them, and while we were getting ready, I said, “y’all will be the prettiest little girls there!” After they got their dresses on, Brantley looked at Gracie and said, “we ARE going to be the prettiest girls there!” HAHA! At least they’re confident, right? They had a ball, and Daddy was the best date.
Then on Saturday, Scott and Brantley went golfing, and then I took the kids to a birthday party…
Then we had church on Sunday, and then LORD we had some cleaning to do! I must’ve done 6 loads of laundry, and put away at least 12 (I had a bit of a back-log, haha)! Thankfully this week has started off slowly and we have winter break next week!
I’m excited about our dinners this week! There are a few recipes that I have been wanting to try, and we’re gonna whip them up this week:
Monday- Early Valentine’s Dinner at Home! Steaks, Parmesan Roasted Cauliflower, and Mixed Greens Salad with Roasted Beets, Blue Cheese, and Balsamic Vinaigrette
Tuesday- Taco Pizza
Wednesday- Lasagna Stuffed Mushrooms and Caesar Salad
Thursday- Farmer’s Breakfast Inspired by the Pioneer Woman: Fried Eggs, Skillet Potatoes, Tomato Salad, Ham Slice, and Bacon
Friday- Chicken Pot Pie Soup (Doesn’t this look so good?!) and Cheddar Bay Biscuits
I hope you have a wonderful week and a LOVEly Valentine’s Day!
