What I Wore Wednesday

Two weeks in a row for WIWW posts…might be a recent record!  Thanks so much for the sweet comments and messages about my post last week…I am so glad to know that there are a few folks out there that like these little posts!  And honestly, I’m glad I started back, because they really give good motivation to get up and get dressed and get some use out of the clothes in my closet!  Plus, I like looking back on the pictures and see what items work and what don’t, what outfits I need to keep in rotation and ones I need to forget about, and patterns in the silhouettes and looks I tend to wear over and over, so that I can buy more items that more closely emulate my style and cultivate a wardrobe that I really love!

ALL that being said, here’s what I wore this past week…

See, this is one of the great things about taking pictures of your outfits (as vain as it feels, a lot of the time)…you learn what outfits you really like!  I thought I looked fine this day in this outfit, but looking back on the picture, I really like it!  Basic, yes, but you can’t go wrong with neutrals.  And I like the combo of black and brown and taupe and gray, and will certainly wear this (or some other similar neutral combo) again.

Back when it was cold last week, this is what I wore to our Wednesday Small Group (which Scott and I are loving, by the way!).  I am super picky about the length of my shirts, so I am loving this new lace shirt extender.  I have been wearing it a lot with tops that I like, but have been hanging, unworn, in my closet, because they are juuuuust a bit too short.

Lace Shirt Extender- House of Glisten

Jeans- Gap

Brown Boots- Macy’s (AMAZING after Christmas sale- got them for $25!)

Talk about a pattern that I have noticed…my winter uniform has been a tunic top over skinny jeans/leggings and boots (as you have seen in the first three photos today!).  So easy and so simple, though!  And I got these boots for Christmas last year, but I have worn them over and over and over this year.  The stacked heel gives me some height without being uncomfortable, and they seem to go with everything!

One of my very favorite things to wear as we transition in between seasons is a long sleeve shirt with bare legs and boots or ballet flats.  So when it was still a little chilly, but warming up a bit last week, I wore this super versatile olive knit swing dress with my favorite (and everyone else’s favorite) plaid scarf, and a pair of awesome cognac boots that a friend of mine just gave to me!  Thanks, Erin!!

And my last outfit for this week is a super-classic denim shirt dress that I just love.  Such a wardrobe staple that you can wear in a million different ways, that I just kept simple yesterday with an old braided belt and a pair of color block ballet flats.

So that’s what I was wearing last week!  I’ll be linking up with Lindsay at The Pleated Poppy for more awesome outfit inspiration.  Check her and all the other lovely bloggers out!
