Chick-o-Stick Smoothie

I love smoothies.  Typically, I use fruit, maybe a handful of spinach, but the fruit is usually the highlight of the smoothie itself.  But as I was perusing Pinterest the other day, I cane across a creamy peanut butter smoothie, which I though sounded so good at the time!  I didn’t have exactly what the recipe called for, so I improvised a bit, and the smoothie that was produced was SO DELICIOUS!  It was made with four basic ingredients (that I had on hand, so you may even be able to make it RIGHT NOW without a run to the store, like me!), and it was even better than I had expected.  It tasted decadent and rich, and seriously like a milkshake, not a healthy smoothie!  And I could not pinpoint exactly what it tasted like for the longest time, but then it hit me!  It tasted like an old-fashioned candy- Chick-o-Sticks!  Or- you may be more familiar with what the inside of a Butterfinger candy bar tastes like, but that is it.  I mean, who wouldn’t want to suck down a candy-bar flavored smoothie!

So, I knew that I wanted to share this delicious smoothie recipe with you.  So here is my Chick-o-Stick Smoothie recipe!

1 very ripe banana

1 cup coconut milk

2 Tablespoons Peanut Butter

1/2 Cup Vanilla Greek Yogurt

(If you want your Chick-o-Stick Smoothie to taste more like an actual Butterfinger Candy Bar Smoothie, add 1 Teaspoon Unsweetened Cocoa Powder!)

Add all ingredients to blender and blend until smooth! Or, if your blender craps out on you (like mine did to me), add all ingredients to a large cup/glass, and blend with an immersion blender until smooth.

Enjoy!  Yum!  Makes two good sized smoothies, or one awesome Amanda-sized smoothie. 🙂
