6- How old Brantley is.
16- How old Brantley thinks she is. Serious six-year-old sass, y’all.
12- Weeks that my family and I were sick. I hate to jinx ourselves and even think it, much less write it, but I *think* we might be through it. Someone has been coughing through the days and nights since mid-July, and to say that we were all sick of being sick is the understatement of the year. Hopefully our immune systems have recovered and we can be healthy for while!
1- More football game for Brantley to cheer in this year. Tomorrow is their “Homecoming” game (not sure how they can have an actual homecoming since they are 5 & 6 years old, but whatevs), and their last game of the season! I am sad to see it end since it was so adorable, and she really seemed to love it and I had a lot of fun coaching, but I will be glad to have our weeknights back! And since our calendar is about to get super busy with other fall activities and the holidays (can you believe it??), it’ll be nice to have some free time in the evenings.
6- Items I have marked off my Fall Handmade Closet List! This Grainline Studios Scout Tee is beloved by so many sewists that I follow, and I have to agree. Such a simple and basic design, but a great fitting pattern, and in SUCH a great silhouette!! It’s a roomy woven tee (because don’t you hate it when you wear a knit top that hugs a little too close to your trouble areas?!) I made three Scout tees so far, and have a few more planned out since it doesn’t take much fabric and the customization options are infinite. Next week I have a blazer and a dress planned…let’s see how far I get!
3- Nights that Scott was gone this past week. We are so happy to have him back, but is was so nice to have my mom come stay for a few days while he was gone! I might as well not even exist while Bammy is here…
3- Hours that mom and I had ALL BY OURSELVES!! while all the kids were at school on Tuesday. I am pretty sure that we have not had ANY time, just the two of us, since before Brantley was born!! It was so much fun to shop, and talk, and reconnect withouthaving to be sidetracked by my darling kiddos. Any amount of time will never be enough to spend with her, but we made the most of it and had a great time together.
5- Laurelhurst cardigans I have made! I made another one for mom over the weekend, and I have declared it a fantastic pattern for those who are new to knits. A very basic drapey cardigan, but the kind that you will wearover and over and over and over…especially once the weather turns a bit chilly and you like to stay in your pjs all weekend. Just sayin. No judgement.
I don’t really even have a number for this one…but this boy just has my whole heart. Well, 1/3 of it, at least. I know it’s so cliche, but I don’t care. He is growing so fast, and he’s my baby, and I tell him almost everyday to just stop growing, and he says, “okay, mama,” like a good boy. He just kills me. 33 years old, and this sweet little boy just kills me over and over.
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! I hope to be more on top of my blogging again next week, and see you then!
