Happy Friday!

Whew!  TGIF, y’all!  We are harvest festival-ed and trunk or treated out after yesterday, but ready to do it all over again tomorrow on Halloween!  The kids are so excited and I am pumped to pick all the delicious chocolate out of their bags after they go to bed, hahaha! I’ll share more about our Halloween activities next week, but for now, be safe and have a wonderful and Happy Halloween!

Apple Tart

If you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know that we went apple picking over the weekend, and amassed quite a bounty of the delicious fruit.  So when we got home, I started looking up recipes and figuring out how I would use all these apples before they went to waste. The first recipe I knew I wanted to try was this Simple Apple Tart from the Pioneer Woman.  I try her recipes over and over, and have yet to be disappointed.[Read more]

Hello Monday

Hi friends!  We’re back after a nice week off for Fall Break, and ready for Halloween!  Here’s what we’re saying hello to on this fall Monday… Hello Reality After a week full of lazy days and fall traditions, the kids are all back to school this week.  But we made the most of our time off!  We ate s’mores… We picked apples… We slept a good bit… We picked out pumpkins… …then painted and carved them! We had a great[Read more]

Hello Fall Break!

As of yesterday, we are on FALL BREAK!  Since we started school clear back in the middle of the summer, we have been needing a little break to recharge, and I love that our school system takes a lovely break right before things amp up for the holidays.  So we started our fall break fun on Saturday, and took the kids to our local theater (where we saw Memphis the Musical a few months ago), and attended one of their[Read more]

What’s for Dinner: Bacon and Mushroom Chicken Pot Pie

Sometimes you just need a warm, stick to your ribs kind of dinner.  Especially now that the summer seems to have finally released her grasp, and we are getting some cooler days, which simply require comfort food.  As I was scrolling through my Facebook feed last Thursday, a friend of mine posted this Martha Stewart recipe for a Bacon and Mushroom Chicken Pot Pie, and I knew that’s what I wanted for dinner for Friday.  Usually our Friday nights are full of leftovers or frozen[Read more]

Hello Monday

Hi Friends!  Hope you had a wonderful weekend.  Here are the things I am saying hello to on this lovely Monday… Hello Walking Dead! Did you watch last night??!  It’s the last of my favorite fall shows to premiere, and I was pumped to sit down (after everyone, including Scott, went to bed) and watch.  When I watched the very first show, years ago, I wasn’t sure I could even make it through, I was so scared!  But the zombies[Read more]

Friday By the Numbers…

6- How old Brantley is. 16- How old Brantley thinks she is.  Serious six-year-old sass, y’all. 12- Weeks that my family and I were sick.  I hate to jinx ourselves and even think it, much less write it, but I *think* we might be through it.  Someone has been coughing through the days and nights since mid-July, and to say that we were all sick of being sick is the understatement of the year.  Hopefully our immune systems have recovered and we can be[Read more]

Five Things

Another week, another round of viruses, and at least we’re back to the weekend!  Gracie and Ben both ran fevers this week, so evidently the bugs have still not worked their way through everyone.  PRAYING that this is IT and that no one else gets sick!  For, like, the third time!!!  Here’s five things from our week… CHRISTMAS PAJAMAS ARE HERE! Goat & Lulu 2015 Christmas Pajamas are now available in my etsy shop!!  25 Fabric options, tons of shirt[Read more]

Ben’s Third Birthday

Saturday a week ago, our sweet little prince turned three!  I decided this year that we would forgo a big shindig as was our standard for the last several years, and just have a small family get-together, and head to the ZOO! My precious boy ready for the zoo! We met my parents, my in-laws, and my brother, sister in law, and niece Sally Kate there at the zoo to celebrate with us.  First stop, the flamingos! Ben is so[Read more]
