Whew! FRIDAY. Amiright? We are ready for the weekend around here. I thought I’d just share a few things that were happening in our world this week. Other than counting down to today!
Back to School 2.0
Brantley went back to school on August 5th, but Grayson and Bennett finally start school on Tuesday! We had Open House last night, and both were so excited, have a few friends in their class, and are IN LOVE with their teachers. Ben and Gracie are so great about playing with each other for the most part, but the last week or so, they have been at each other’s throats. I think they are ready for school, some new experiences, and a little more structure than a typical day at home offers. I don’t think it’s quite hit me yet that my baby is going to school (only for two mornings a week), but the fact that he didn’t want to leave his classroom last night definitely helps my mama heart. He is going to LOVE school. And I will get two mornings a week TO MYSELF!! Hooray for that!!!
Wednesday was mine and Scott’s 9th wedding anniversary, but bummer, he was out of town on business. BUT, it only meant that we had to put off our celebrating until tonight! We got a babysitter and we’ll be headed to a local production of Memphis the Musical (won the Tony award for Best Musical in 2010!) and a yummy dinner out! We saw The Nutcracker at Christmas, but I can’t remember the last time I saw a musical theater production, and I am so excited! And honestly, just an opportunity to dress up and have some conversation about something other than potty training and after school activities with Scott will be really nice. 🙂
I have been trying to make this daggum Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie all week long, but keep failing. I was going to make it one night, and realized we were out of eggs. Then I was going to make it another night, but we had eaten all of the vanilla ice cream (and I’m pretty sure the cold vanilla ice cream on top of the hot, gooey cookie is what TOTALLY makes it). So I have collected all ingredients, double checked to make sure we have everything, and I WILL be making it this weekend. I will post the results on Instagram and make you all insanely jealous, and force you to run to the store to grab everything to make one of your own to share. Or not to share.
I hope you have had a good week, and have a fun (or relaxing or lazy or exciting or whatever!) weekend ahead of you. Have a good one and see you next week!
