Hello Friends. I can’t tell you how happy I am that today is a new day, and we have a fresh start to the week, after a pretty yucky past five days! Here are the things I am saying hello to today…
Hello Steroids and Antibiotics. I have had a fever since WEDNESDAY of last week, and finally gave in and went to the minute clinic at Walgreens yesterday morning. Evidently, I have had a raging ear infection! The fever was making me horribly achy, weak and fatigued, giving me chills one minute, and sweating the next (but, ironically, no ear pain!). The last time I felt this bad was when I got strep throat when Brantley was a baby, but that was just for a day. This has lasted FIVE DAYS! But now, in addition to my Dayquil and Ibuprofin that I have been taking round the clock, I have a few prescriptions that should (HOPEFULLY!!) have me feeling better really soon.
Hello Cheerleading!! This cheerleading mama couldn’t be more excited that Brantley decided that she wanted to cheer this fall! I am an assistant coach for her squad, and am so excited about her practices that start this week. I’m just praying that I feel good enough to participate. DANG EAR INFECTIONS!!!
Hello Back to School Prep. We are in the back to school homestretch! I have a long list of to-do’s before next Wednesday, including picking up B’s school supplies, getting all the laundry done and put away (yikes!), cleaning the kids rooms and bathrooms, getting the kids back on their bedtime routines (double yikes!), among other things (lots of other things). But as much as I love back to school, and fall, and routines and schedules, I am just not ready to send my first born into first grade yet! I think she is super excited and will be totally fine, but we have had such a fun summer, and I’m just sad for it to be over. The kids have played together so well, we have had fun trips and outings, and we have had the opportunity to have plenty of lazy, relaxed days as well. But time marches on, I suppose, though it’s just marching a little too quickly for me!
While I’m saying hello to a few things on this Monday morning, someone very close to me is saying goodbye to someone very close to them. I’ll leave out the details for the sake of their privacy, but please say a prayer for their comfort and peace. And to this person: We love you and are here for you in any capacity you may need us. Words can’t express how sorry I am for your loss, but we will give you all the love we possibly can to help lift you up.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. – Psalm 91:4
Hope y’all have a great Monday. 🙂
