Hello Monday

Hello Friends.  I can’t tell you how happy I am that today is a new day, and we have a fresh start to the week, after a pretty yucky past five days!  Here are the things I am saying hello to today… Hello Steroids and Antibiotics.  I have had a fever since WEDNESDAY of last week, and finally gave in and went to the minute clinic at Walgreens yesterday morning.  Evidently, I have had a raging ear infection!  The fever[Read more]

At Least It’s Friday…

I don’t get sick very often, but when I do, it’s usually just a cold and I can power through it.  But SHEESH, this one that I have picked up is tough.  I spent all day Wednesday and all day Thursday on the sofa, as the kids spent their days on the double crib mattress pallet I set up for them, watching movies and cartoons, and whatever else I could get them to do relatively quietly while I could keep[Read more]

What I Wore Wednesday

So, I have been trying to be better (again) about taking photos of my outfits each day, so I am back today with WIWW!  Here’s what I wore this past week: My favorite dress that I have made for myself, hands down!  The pattern I used was the Washi Dress by Rae Hoekstra, and I already have another one cut out and ready to sew, and plans for several more.  The dress fit perfectly (thanks to a well-designed pattern), and[Read more]

Currently…

I haven’t done one of these posts in a loooong time, and thought I’d update you on what’s going on currently around here… Appreciating… My Bible Study girlfriends.  We all knew each other before our bible study started at the beginning of the summer, and were friends through preschool, but we have really gotten to know each other so much more, and on such a deeper level during this six week study.  We share our strengths and definitely our weaknesses, and we leave[Read more]

Meal Plan Monday

Hello friends!  I hope y’all had a great weekend!  We took it pretty easy and hung out since the five of us were all back together.  Today I’m here to share my meal plan for the week, since I am starting to get back into the more structured routine for school (which is starting back in about 2 and a half weeks, EEEEEEK!!). Mexican Chicken and Bean Tostadas with Black Bean Soup  I had to pop in the store yesterday for[Read more]

Friday Favorites

Hello and TGIF!  Four out of five posts this week isn’t too bad, and much better than in past weeks!  I thought I would go back to my old Friday theme, and list four of my favorite things on this lovely Friday.     Favorite One-Serving Dessert: Chocolate Mug Cake The mug cake trend is a powerful one round these parts.  What to do when you’re craving something sweet, and chocolaty, but it’s 11:00 and yo’re out of candy and[Read more]

What I Wore Wednesday

I got myself together this week and was able to create a new What I Wore Wednesday post!  The whole point of WIWW is to take pictures of outfits every day to encourage myself to get dressed and get going, and make the most out of the clothes in my closet.  I have definitely been slacking this summer (but it is summer…), but I made it happen this week!  So here’s what I wore… This dress was pretty much the deal[Read more]

Pinterest Recipe Reviews

If you follow along with my Meal Plan Monday posts, you’ll know that I get a lot of our weeknight dinner recipes from Pinterest.  There are soooooo many great recipe ideas, and no matter our tastes, plans, or budget for the week, I can always find plenty of options. But, just like other recipe resources, there are going to be hits, and there are going to be misses.  I wanted to share some of the recipes that I have tried lately, and[Read more]

Hello Monday

Hello Monday!  After a fun weekend of Scott’s grandmother’s 90th Birthday Party, and hauling the girls to Blue Ridge to begin their week of Princess Dance Camp, I am excited to say hello to a new week.     Hello week of just me and my boy!!  Like I mentioned, the girls are at dance camp with my mom this week, and Scott is on the west coast for work all week, and so it’s me and Ben on our own.  And[Read more]

What it Means to be a Mother

One of my worst fears (if not the worst) is dying before my children are grown.  It’s not the fear of dying, so much as it’s imagining how hard it would be on Brantley, Grayson, and Ben to grow up without a mother.  How painful that would be to not have mom around during the most influential time in their entire life.  So when I was reading one of my very favorite blogs the other day, Cup of Jo, and her post about[Read more]
