Hi Friends! I was MIA pretty much all last week getting ready for Brantley and Grayson’s Birthday Fiesta (I had procrastinated pretty badly, and pretty much had to throw it all together in 4 days!), but am back and saying hello to a few things this Monday morning.
Hola Ladies! And Hello after a party filled weekend! I will share more birthday party photos later this week, but we had a great time celebrating Brantley and Grayson’s sixth and fourth birthdays on Saturday (their birthdays are only about 3 weeks apart, so we have combined their parties for the past 3 years!). We had a Mexican Fiesta, complete with a build your own Taco bar, Pinata, and other festive activities (again, more details to come!). The kids had a blast, wore themselves out, and we were worn out too! A huge gracias to our wonderful friends and family that came out to help us celebrate. A great times was had by all!
Hello to the busy part of our summer! Today all three of the kids start swim lessons (Brantley’s third year, and Grayson and Ben’s first) that last all week, we have some other fun plans for next week, the first of two Vacation Bible Schools, Brantley’s actual birthday, and then we’re off on our first beach trip! I’m excited for some fun activities, and will certainly be squeezing in plenty of relaxing too. 🙂
Hello lots of new recipes and meal plans! You may (or may not, ha!) have noticed that I haven’t done my Meal Plan Monday posts in a while. The first few weeks of summer were pretty laid back, and I didn’t even go to the grocery store for my weekly trips, like usual. But I have been perusing Pinterest for some new, lighter recipes for the summertime, and will hopefully be back to my normal meal plan postings next week! Last week, we had Blue Cheese Chicken Burgers, Turkey and Monterrey Jack Cheese Baked Chimichangas, Hoisin Cod Filets , and Angel Hair Pasta with Eggplant and Tomato Sauce. Everything was delicious, EASY, and so healthy! I’ll be sharing more in the weeks to come…
Hello Potty Training 3.0! I mean, is there anything cuter than your baby in big-kid underwear?! No, no there is not. We have been talking to Ben for a while about tee-teeing in the potty, and all of a sudden the idea sounded good to him. So I picked up some Spiderman underwear, and we were off! I haven’t been super-strict, and we’ve had diapers on and off, but we are practicing using the toilet and he’s been doing a great job. Plus, the girls have been so supportive and so encouraging, since they get a treat each time Ben goes potty too! I think we might hunker down and really work on it in a few weeks (maybe at the beach? That did the trick for Grayson last year!), but for now, I just can’t get enough of my little man in his Spiderman undies!!! And if you can’t tell, he’s pretty proud of himself. 🙂
Hello to a new Summer Moms Bible Study that I am starting tomorrow with some of my mom friends. I am SO anxious to start this. I am an active member in two moms groups, my MOMs Club of Loganville, and my Cafe Mom group at the preschool the kids go to. Both are definitely meeting mommy needs of mine, but the MOMs group has no religious affiliation, and my Cafe Mom group does, but it only meets once a month during the school year. I was craving some more intimate connections through my faith, and luckily, so were several of my other friends. So we began a weekly group that is for the summertime, but I am truly hoping will continue! We are starting with the book The Best Yes: Making Wise Decisions in the Midst of Endless Demands, by Lysa TerKeurst. I already read a lot of Lysa’s daily devotionals from Proverbs 31, so I was excited that this was the book we’re starting with. I can’t wait to work on my faith and study with other moms in the exact same stage of life as me.
And with that, the week is off and rolling! What are you saying hello to today?
