Hi Friends! I hope you had a wonderful weekend! Here are a few things that I am saying hello to on this lovely Monday morning…
Hello (and goodbye again) Scott!
Scott was out of town for work most of last week, and we were all so excited for him to get home on Saturday night! Just to have him have to leave again on Sunday, though, for another trip through Wednesday. 🙁 At least when we pick him up from the airport Wednesday night, we’ll be all packed and ready to head to the beach on Thursday! And speaking of…
Hello Laundry and Packing
Since we are headed out on Beach Trip #2 on Thursday morning, I am in laundry mode and re-packing everything we just brought home from Florida. At least we are pretty much taking all of the same things, so it’s pretty simple. But still takes some time and effort to keep the dogs from laying in my piles of warm, clean clothes!
Hello TRUE DETECTIVE
If you are a fan of suspenceful, thrilling CSI and SVU type shows, oh my goodness, you must watch True Detective on HBO. Season two just started, and season one only had 8 (or 9?) episodes, so it’s totally doable to binge watch and catch up by next Sunday, when episode 3 will premiere. Season one featured Matthew McConaghey and Woody Harrelson as detectives in Louisiana, and now this season is an entirely new cast and location, as Collin Farrell, Rachel McAdams and Taylor Kitsch (TIM RIGGINS!!) are the detectives in LA. It is such a dark and edgy show, and it’s not really exactly scary, but I can hardly watch it alone by myself at night, I get too freaked out! But it is SO GOOD, and my new TV addiction. Well, that and…
Hello Big Brother!
Mine and Scott’s summer TV guilty pleasure is back on TV, and we couldn’t be happier. Another season of Big Brother is upon us, and it seems like it’s going to be another good one. We are already forming our opinions of our favorites (James!) and the ones we find annoying, and can’t wait to see what unfolds.
Hello Lame Weekly Menu Plan
Since we are leaving town Thursday for the beach and Scott is gone until then, my meal plan for the week is more scan-the-pantry-for-what-I-can-pull-together than what-delicious-recipe-can-I-try-this-week? And that’s okay! Before we go on trips, I like to play Chopped with myself, and see what I can come up with rather than buying a fridge and pantry full of food that will end up sitting for a week. So we’ll be having a Rotisserie chicken with green beans and rice tonight, some delectable fish sticks and Kraft mac and cheese tomorrow night (the meal the kids are most looking forward to!), and then some barbequed chicken legs with a tomato, cucumber, and onion salad for Wednesday night (the meal I am most looking forward to!). All I really had to buy were the proteins, and we had the sides in the fridge/pantry already. We will need a MAJOR trip to Kroger when we get back from vacation!
That’s about all I’ve got for t0day. What are you saying hello to on this Monday?
