What I Wore Wednesday

Hi Friends!  First of all, thank you for all the sweet birthday wishes yesterday!!  I think 33 is going to be one heck of a year. 🙂  Secondly, welcome to WIWW!  These posts have been few and far between lately, but I have several outfits to share today.

I like Lilly Pulitzer, and have a few Lilly dresses, but I was not waiting in line at 6 am outside of Target waiting for the collection to debut last month.  Not saying that I wasn’t online at midnight googling the leaked links to each item, though!  I didn’t score anything online, but a friend of mine has been checking out Targets around town ever since, and would text me when she’d find different things!  And that’s how I got this Lilly for Target tunic!  I do have to say, this was in the running for things I wanted to order when I was making my wishlist, and it is far better in person than I had even expected.  Very lightweight and soft gauzy cotton, and I love the color.  So THANKS Rachel!  I’ll be wearing this over and over all summer long.

White Skinny Jeans- New York and Company via TJ Maxx

Nude Wedges- Old Navy

I wore this favorite warm weather dresses from last year last week, and I know it will be a favorite again this year.  It’s casual, but I think the crispness of the chambray and the pretty embroidery makes it look very pulled together.  Add sandals, and you’re done.

Chambray Dress- Madewell

Nude Sandals- Swedish Hasbeens from Amazon.com

This little cutie kept jumping in on my pictures, so we just posed together!  We were all dressed up for church “like two fancy ladies,” as Grayson put it! 🙂

Nude Wedges- Old Navy

I have been on a roll making new garments for myself the past few weeks, and right now I am on a shorts kick!  The great thing about knowing how to sew, is that if you have a hard time fitting into ready to wear clothing, when you make your own, you can make it to fit!  I have a hard time fitting into shorts.  I do not like low-rise shorts, I like about a 4-5 inch inseam, and I like some room in the legs.  So when I found a few patterns with adjustable rise lengths and inseams, I started whipping out shorts left and right.  They are easy to make, don’t take a lot of time, or fabric!  This pair is made with the Coachella Shorts pattern by The Striped Swallow, and I am in love!  They have a comfortable elastic waist and fit so well.  I also sell them in my etsy shop for women and children!   They are perfect for summer, and I am already planning on a few more pairs in some bright, summery prints!

Mint Sandals- Target

These are my *favorite* shorts that I have made so far.  They are all about this gorgeous Aztec woven fabric I found, and I love them so much!!!  They are just plain, ole basic shorts, with an elastic waistband, but they fit really well, I like the length, and I LOVE the pattern.

And lastly, another pair of basic shorts, but in this vibrant pink denim.  They look and feel more like chinos, and the color just screams summer!  As soon as I saw the fabric, I knew they were going to be shorts, and I love them.  I will be making more of these as well; I’m not sure why I hadn’t started making my own shorts sooner!

Nude Dr Scholl’s Sandals- So old I don’t have a clue where I got them!!

I will be linking up with The Pleated Poppy today, for WIWW.  Check it out and all the other wonderful ladies showcasing their style!

Thank you for reading and see you tomorrow!
