What I Wore Wednesday

Finally, I took the time to assemble another WIWW post!  The weather, over the last few weeks, has been about as unpredictable and as varied as possible.  75 degrees and sunny one day, and 50 the next.  Not only is it totally frustrating, since I am so ready for warm weather (consistent warm weather), but it is so hard to know what to wear and how to dress the kids! I have been trying to dress myself and the kids in layers so we are warm for the mornings and can shed them as it warms up later in the day, but honestly, I’m tired of jackets and scarfs!  So anyway, this WIWW is dedicated to the tail end of winter (Lord, please!), and hoping for nicer weather from here on out!

This is what I wore on our trip down to Savannah a few weeks ago (I haven’t done a WIWW in a while!).  Comfy for traveling, and it was pretty chilly, so the scarf and jacket kept me comfortable.  I like the boxiness of my t shirt, but it was too short (after I shrunk it in the wash, oops), so I added a tiered lace tank underneath, and voila!  Perfect length!

I love when it’s warm enough to wear dresses with boots and no leggings or tights!  It was pretty chilly the morning I wore this, but had warmed up a bit in the afternoon to drop the scarf and still be comfortable.  I like the juxtaposition of the eyelet and the (faux) leather of the jacket.  Lots of texture in this outfit which gives it a bit of interest despite the neutral color palette.

One of my favorite pieces this past fall and winter was this black and white herringbone vest.  I love a good layering piece, and wearing this vest over a simple button up elevated the style a bit, I think.  You could wear it with a plaid flannel and the vest made it look classier and more sophisticated.  This day, I wore it with a simple, lightweight pink button up, my favorite jeans, and black ballet flats with my monogram on them!  Preppy, comfortable, and I at least looked pulled together (whether or not I actually was :)).

Black Ballet Flats with Gold Medallion and Monogram- Marley Lilly/Gift

This dress was a great purchase this winter.  I was able to wear it with leggings and a heavy cardigan, and now that it’s warming up, I can wear it with ankle boots or sandals, and it’s loose enough and lightweight enough to still be comfortable.

Black Medallion Dress- Old Navy (clearly I’m a fan :))

Gold Key Necklace- AmericasMart

I can’t wait to wear more drapey, sheer cardis and kimonos this spring!  I like the layer that they give to an outfit without any more warmth, which won’t be needsed come May and June.  I love the pastels in this one, and plan to pair it with white jeans, tanks, and I’ll probably be repeating this simple outfit too!

White Linen T Shirt- Target

Destroyed Skinnies- Old Navy (promise I ore some other jeans too in the last few weeks :))

White Platform Clog Sandals- Macys

Gold Key Necklace- AmericasMart

And last outfit for this week!  I wore this maxi out to see Cinderella last weekend.  I like wearing maxis or jeans to the movies since I am always freezing, so this was perfect.  Again, the soft peach falls right in line with my love for pastels this season, and the stripes, well, just feed my obsession over stripes. 🙂

Jean Jacket- Gap

Peach Strip Maxi- Printed Palette

Nude Sandals- Swedish Hasbeens (can’t really see them :))

SO!  That’s what I’ve been wearing lately.  I’ll be linking up over at The Pleated Poppy, so hop over and check it out!
